Synthesis of platinum-mercury clusters and the molecular structure of Pt4(HgBr)2(μ-CO)4(PPh3)4
New platinum-mercury clusters, Pt4(HgX)2(μ-CO)4(PR3)4 (X=Cl, Br, I, CF3, or CCl3; R=Ph or Et), were synthesized. The molecular and crystal structure of the Pt4(HgBr)2(μ-CO)4(PPh3)4 cluster was established by X-ra...

Redox reactions involving low-valence transition metal complexes: Palladium and platinum phosphinecarbonyl clusters in the synthesis of binuclear compounds
The heterobinuclear complex, PtPdCl2(μ2-CO)(PPh3)3 was obtained by the redox addition of Pd4(CO)5(PPh3)4, and Pt4(CO)5(PPh3)4, to MCl2(PPh3)2, where M=Pd and Pt, as a single isomer containing the two PPh3 ligands...

Synthesis of Pt(0)-carbonyltrialkylphosphine clusters
The reaction of platinum dicarbonyl with triethylphosphine gave Pt(0) clusters of composition: Pt5(CO)6(PEt3)4 and Pt4(CO)5(PEt3)4. Treatment of the latter with PEt3 gave the Pt3(CO)3(PEt3)4, cluster.
