About this book

The 2nd International Conference of Mechanical System Dynamics (ICMSD2023) is devoted to “Technology Innovations by Understanding Mechanical Dynamics”, with 18 sessions to promote research in dynamic theories on complex structures, multidisciplinary integration, and advanced technologies for applications. It is held on September 1–5 in Peking University, Bei**g, China.

The conference is expected to provide a platform for academic researchers and engineers in the field of mechanical system dynamics to exchange scientific and technical ideas.

About the editors

Prof. **aoting Rui received his Ph.D. degree in dynamics, vibration, and control from Nan**g University of Science and Technology. He was elected as Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. He is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics. He has been Guest Professor at the University of Stuttgart, Cottbus Technology University, University of Hanover, Fraunhofer Institute for High-Speed Dynamics, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and Hamburg University of Technology in Germany. He has published 7 books and over 400 papers and has gained over 100 national authorized invention patents, 16 software copyrights, and 26 national and industrial standards of China. He has obtained 4 National Technological Invention Awards and National Technology Progress Awards. His research interests include multibody system dynamics, transfer matrix method for multibody systems, and launch dynamics.

Prof. Caishan Liu received his Ph.D. degree from Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tian** University in 1994 and was appointed as Faculty at Peking University since 2000. His research interests are in multibody system dynamics and control and achieved many outcomes in low-speed impact dynamics and in the applications of aerospace engineering. He has made outstanding contributions to major national projects, such as the fault reset of Long March 5 and lunar soil drilling/mining of Chang'e 5. He was the PI of many key and general projects from NSFC and other departments and serves as Executive Director of academic societies and Associate Editor of journals. He published about 100 papers on domestic and international journals.
