Regenerative Pulse Sha**: A New Technique for Ultrabroadband Amplification
Regenerative pulse sha** is used to amplify sub-20 fs pulses, and to produce ~100-fs pulses centered at different wavelengths for difference frequency mixing in the 6–12 µm range.

Ultrafast Ionization Dynamics in Laser-Driven Clusters
We have modeled the ionization dynamics of rare gas clusters induced by ultrashort laser pulses (15fs). High ionization levels are reached within femtoseconds, producing pulses of energetic electrons. Inner sh...

Sub-20-fs Multiterawatt Laser and Ultrafast X-Ray Source
Recent results of an 18 fs, multiterawatt system designed to produce >1 J pulses are discussed including its use in an ultrafast x-ray source.

Chirped-Pulse Amplifiaction with a Fiber Stretcher and a Grism Compressor
We demonstrate chirped-pulse amplification of femtosecond pulses using a fiber stretcher. We use a grism pair to achieve the highest single-stage compression factor (750) ever obtained from a fiber.
