Zusammenfassung

Epidemiologie beschäftigt sich mit dem Auftreten und den Ursachen von Krankheiten in Bevölkerungen. Hierbei stehen zunächst die Häufigkeit der Erkrankung bzw. Veränderungen der Häufigkeit im Zentrum des Interesses. Werden die Kinder und Jugendlichen in Deutschland immer dicker? Haben immer mehr Kinder in Deutschland allergische Erkrankungen wie Asthma und Heuschnupfen? Neben den zeitlichen Trends sind auch regionale Unterschiede von Bedeutung: Sind allergische Erkrankungen in verschiedenen Regionen unterschiedlich häufig?
