Abstract
This book argues that reproaches in the L2 classroom are not an a priori sign of negative communication (Rathel et al., 2008). The ability to produce reproaches, fine-tune them and respond to pupils’ resistance is an integral part of L2 teachers’ interactional repertoires and their classroom interactional competence. This argument and its implications in terms of future research as well L2 teaching and training are discussed in Chapter 9.
