Zusammenfassung
Die politische Situation in der Türkei ist sowohl innen- als auch außenpolitisch extrem angespannt. Innenpolitisch herrscht Präsident Erdoğan zunehmend autokratisch, Meinungs- und Pressefreiheit werden eingeschränkt und auch die Kurdenfrage entflammt erneut in gewaltvollen Auseinandersetzungen. Vor allem das Jahr 2013 war gekennzeichnet durch landesweite bürgerliche Proteste, die jedoch durch massive Polizeieinsätze gegen Demonstranten mit Todesfolge bekämpft wurden.
