Abstract
Vitamin deficiencies have long been associated with various painful conditions, such as abdominal pain in the case of vitamin B deficiency or soft tissue pain in vitamin C deficiency. However, vitamins have also been used in the treatment of various painful conditions beyond simple deficiencies, including cancer-associated pain, neuropathic pain, and pain resulting from viral infections. It is theorized that the antioxidant, energy metabolism, and neuroprotective properties of vitamins may be beneficial for modulating pain transmission. However, the available data is somewhat limited, and further research is needed to better identify and characterize the analgesic effect of vitamin infusions.
