Ceramic water filter, or CWF, is a ceramic filter produced from a mixture of clay and sieved combustible material used to treat water. CWF is one of the most effective household water treatment systems that can be used in many circumstances (rural areas, emergency cases when disasters occur, etc.). It can be fabricated into different shapes (disk, tube, candle, and pot). Ceramic water filters (CWFs) are typically used in remote rural communities’ settings where access to safe drinking water is a problem. However, they are suitable for point-of-use water treatment in various situations since they can effectively remove microorganisms and reduce turbidity from water by gravity filtration through porous ceramic media.
