Agios Nikolaos (Ag. Nikolaos) – an island 72 m high, 900 m length, and 550 m wide, located in the southern part of the Kerkyra Strait, east of the Mutros Island (q.v.), Greece. The island is 900 m long and 550 m wide. The island is separated from a coast by a narrow strait 180–260 m wide. This is very common name for small islands in Greece. Only in the Ionian Sea there are several such islands: (1) the island, located 3.5 km northeast of the northeastern coast of the Zakynthos Island (Katasgori Cape); (2) the rocky islet about 4 m high, located 200 m northwest of the caoe of the same name, bordering Argostolion Bay, the Kefalonia Island; (3) the island 15 m high, located 200 m southwest of the Pogonia Cape, Amvrakikos Bay. There is a chapel on the top of the island; the islet 56 m height, located in Gaios Bay, on the northeastern coast of the Paxi Island (q.v.). On the top of the island, there is the fort, the church Agios-Nikolaos is at the southern point of the island.
