Abstract

Coffee production has a high socioeconomic importance in most Latin-American countries. The areas where coffee is grown are characterized as optimal environments for the occurrence of several organisms, many of which are associated with coffee plants. Coffee crop management plays an important role in the settlement and maintenance of their populations. This chapter covers aspects related to the main coffee crop pests and their natural enemies, pointing out the role of vegetal diversification as a strategy to increase populations of these natural agents that benefit the control of pest populations and the ecological balance of the coffee crop system.
