Acoustical Holography Experiments Using Digital Processing

  • Chapter
Acoustical Holography

Abstract

Acoustical holography experiments were performed in a water tank with unequal wavelength and hologram scaling ratios as a preliminary step toward modeling with solids. An apparatus was developed to record the holographic data in digital form. Using a special digital plotting device, much higher resolution was obtained than with conventional CRT displays. A computer was used to synthesize the holographic process and optical reconstructions were obtained from digital holograms of objects which exist only in numerical form.
