Abstract
The data migration phase stands as a critical juncture in the entire migration process. It encapsulates the collective knowledge, expertise, and efforts, particularly of the data migration workstream, accumulated and invested throughout the data migration journey. The culmination of these concerted efforts aims to achieve a successful and timely system go-live, as delineated in the project plan.

Certain transactional data may be migrated prior to the posting free period. Typically, this includes data that undergoes infrequent changes or changes that can be deferred. For instance, as outlined in the Data Migration Plan, such data may encompass recurring entries or treasury data. This approach serves two main purposes: firstly, it helps minimize the duration of the posting free period, and secondly, it facilitates the distribution of system workload. The determination of which transactional data needs to be transferred before the commencement of the posting free period is made by the data migration workstream lead.
- 3.
While formally outlined in the Data Migration Plan solely for controlling objects and financial characteristics, it is advisable to conduct this check for each migrated object. This practice ensures timely identification of incorrect migration and facilitates the implementation of necessary corrective measures to prevent unnecessary delays in data migration.
- 4.
A similar approach can also be employed during the testing of data migration and data acceptance.
