Abstract
Delving into the crucial aspects of Data Centre Security and Resiliency, this chapter underscores the significance of safeguarding computer systems, storage, and network infrastructure against theft, damage, or disruptions. Beginning with an exploration of data center security and the paramount importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital landscape, the discussion extends to various vulnerabilities and attack types, highlighting motivations ranging from thrill-seeking vandals to statesupported actors. Emphasizing the escalating financial impact of cybercrime, this chapter advocates for integrating security principles into design and infrastructure while implementing robust prevention, detection, and response mechanisms. It further underscores the importance of vulnerability assessment, management, and mitigation strategies, alongside security training and incident response planning. Finally, it stresses the necessity of continuous monitoring, redundancy, and ongoing enhancement of security tools to cultivate a resilient infrastructure capable of withstanding evolving cybersecurity threats.
