A form of nicotine poisoning that mostly affects tobacco harvesters is called green tobacco sickness (GTS).
It is brought on by workers handling uncured tobacco leaves and absorbing nicotine through their skin from the wet leaves.
Among the indications and symptoms include nausea, vomiting, pallor, dizziness, headaches, increased sweating, chills, stomach discomfort, diarrhea, increased salivation, prostration, weakness, dyspnea, and sporadic dips in blood pressure.
