Abstract

The adsorption behavior of personal care products on the surface/interface of clay minerals was investigated using molecular dynamics simulation. The adsorption processes of surfactant molecules cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide and chlorinated 1-hexadecyl-3-methylimidazole on the surfaces of kaolinite, zeolite, and montmorillonite, and adsorption of personal care products DS and CAP on organically-modified clay minerals with different concentrations were respectively investigated.
