Abstract

With videolised new media, audio-visual content producers have undergone fundamental changes. Their role has expanded from display and dissemination of information to interaction and exchange of information. Meanwhile, changes in media production, broadcasting, and audiences have led to new trends in content production. This chapter focuses on the transformation of the role of audio-visual content producers in a videolised society. Relying on popular culture, communication studies, narratology, and other related theories, the chapter begins with three aspects: the evolution of content producers, transformations in media, and new trends in content production. This chapter integrates case studies while systematically discussing the changing roles of audio-visual content producers in a videolised society.
