Abstract

The exponential rise in vehicular traffic has increased the delay in ambulance conveyance, leading to several deaths. This paper addresses a strategic way to solve the problem of efficient patient transfer by provisioning a clear path with zero human intervention, for stern patients, and facility-to-facility transfers utilizing IoT-based Smart Traffic Signalling (STS) with integrated cloud services for efficient data handling and transmission. Road Side Units (RSUs) laid along customized routes facilitate the route creation between medical facilities. With the synchronized STS system, it is possible to maintain regular traffic both in daily conditions and while corridor creation. Our contribution is to provide an optimal solution for the free flow of emergency vehicles using an automated green corridor with zero on-road human intervention maintaining the regular flow of vehicles unaltered.
