Porous mineral material is the mineral material with porous structure, prepared by purification, transformation, modification, and compounding process pursuant according to the physical and chemical properties of the mineral (rock).
Classification
Porous mineral materials can be divided into natural and synthetic porous mineral material based on pore formation.
In 1756, A.F. Cronstedt, a Swedish mineralogist, discovered zeolite, the first natural porous mineral material. Since then, various natural zeolites have been mined and named. The discovered materials are classified into three categories on their forms: three-dimensional pore structure, such as zeolite, diatomaceous earth, and some expanded mineral materials; two-dimensional layered structure, such as montmorillonite, vermiculite, graphite, etc.; and one-dimensional columnar pore structure, such as attapulgite, meerschaum, asbestos, etc. The diverse pore structures and forms naturally formed in mineral materials mainly include...
