Abstract

The Bakken formation in Canada is a typical tight sandstone reservoir, the well logging curves have the characteristic of high gamma value, high density and low resistivity, so it is difficult to evaluate the reservoir parameters accurately. Based on the research of the deposition background and causes, the main causes of high gamma and low resistivity of oil reservoir are clarified, and the appropriate calculation methods of shale content and oil saturation are put forward accordingly. Finally, the accurate interpretation models of shale content, porosity, oil saturation and permeability are obtained. The method has been verified in the oilfield and has achieved good result.
