Abstract

Antenna array synthesis plays a very prime role in wireless communications. Highly directional antennas that scan the entire azimuthal plane in every phi cut are mostly used in angular resolution RADAR and wide-bandwidth microwave direction finders. Hence in this type of application design of an antenna array with more directivity and reduced Side lobes is preferred. The antenna array is synthesized using hybrid techniques that include window functions and optimization techniques in the present paper. The concept of thinning is also applied using different evolutionary algorithms and corresponding results are presented at the end.
