Abstract

Cognitive radio technology is introduced to enhance spectrum utilization. Due to its spectrum sharing and sensing process, the cognitive radio network has gaind marvelous attention in wireless communication. The spectrum sharing is a part of cognitive radio network. In a cognitive radio network (CRN) while transmission, detection errors occur at the secondary users (SU) and it degrades the spectrum sharing and system performance of the CRN. In this paper, the hybrid error detection-based spectrum sharing model is proposed to mitigate the error and improve the spectrum sharing efficiency. The performance of the proposed model is analyzed in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) under Primary Users (PU) and Secondary Users (SU), throughput, delay, energy consumption and spectrum utilization respectively. It is also compared with existing schemes to prove the efficacy of the proposed model.
