Abstract

With notable properties, boron nitride nanotube (BNNT) has received considerable attention on its synthesis and properties. This paper performs a bibliometric analysis on BNNT publications listed on Scopus database since its first theorization in 1994. With a total of 1537 documents, this paper uses Harzing’s Publish or Perish for citation metrics in publication trends, geographical contributions and source titles while VOSViewer is used for visualizations of keywords and collaborations among researchers. This analysis found that there is still ongoing experimentation on BNNTs and most of the documents are under journals. Researchers from China are most active in publishing BNNT papers while United States received the most citations from their BNNT papers. The most used source titles are also listed on both Scopus and Web of Science databases. Publications on BNNTs are expected to continue to focus on the production and enhancing the properties of BNNTs for industrial-wide applications and sustainability.
