Abstract

In order to solve the problem that traditional beamforming technology is limited by Rayleigh Limitation and does not have special suppression ability to the interference signal, an adaptive beamforming algorithm based on virtual array is proposed. Firstly, on the basis of conventional beamforming, the aperture of underwater acoustic array is expanded virtually by vector weighting of dynamic signal data of moving array, which improves beam quality; Then, the adaptive beamforming algorithm is used to calculate the weighting coefficient of each array element and automatically correct it with the change of environment, which solves the problem that traditional beamforming has no special ability to suppress the interference signal; Finally, the spatial smoothing technique is used to remove the coherence of signal and solve the problem of signal coherence. The performance of adaptive beamforming algorithm after virtual element and space smoothing is verified by Matlab simulation, which proves the superiority of the above method.
