Welding-brazing is a method that makes use of the difference in the melting points of heterogeneous materials, in which low-melting-point metal is heated to above melting point while high-melting-point metal (or composite materials) is not melted, thus the molten metal brazes the other. The welded joint formed by welding-brazing has the characteristics of both fusion welding and brazing. It is suitable for the welding of heterogeneous metals, some metals and nonmetal materials with great differences in the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties. The joint form is generally butt joint or lap joint.

Welding-brazing is produced with the application of new materials and heterogeneous material structures. When fusion welding is used in some dissimilar material, a large number of brittle phases are generated in the weld seam and there is a large residual stress in the joint. When the brazing method is adopted, it is difficult for the brazing alloy to wet the two materials at the same...
