Abstract

Hybrid precoding in wideband mmWave systems is one of the main challenges at present when being extended from a narrowband beamforming model. This chapter investigates the hybrid precoding schemes for wideband mmWave multiuser systems under fully-connected architecture and subarray-based architecture, in Sects. 7.2 and 7.3, respectively. For each beamforming architecture, the system model is first described, based on which the corresponding problems, solutions, and simulation results are presented. Finally, Sect. 7.4 concludes the chapter.

Notes

  1. 1.

We clarify that in Table 7.1, only the dominant components in calculations are considered.

  2. 2.

We clarify that the OMP hybrid precoding scheme was first proposed in [12] for the single-user mmWave system. For the sake of a fair comparison, we extend this scheme into multiuser systems.
