Abstract
This chapter summarizes main results on cooperative coverage control of MAS by reviewing theoretical formulation of multi-agent coverage control and its practical applications and then discusses possible research directions in the future, which include wide-area cooperative coverage control via UAV-Satellite coordination, coverage control design for time-varying irregular regions, mathematical framework for coverage-based stochastic routing strategy, and experimental validation of cooperative coverage control algorithm.
