Abstract
In this chapter, we provide an account of the launch and development of three open data initiatives in Victoria, Australia. These case studies, which are based on our interviews with workers directly involved with an open data programme, are illustrative of the sometimes fraught process of realising open data visions more broadly. But in each we also delve into the very specific factors that shaped them from the perspective of the people responsible for their implementation.
