Surgery and Operating Room Innovation

Abstract

8K ultrahigh definition (UHD; 7680 × 4320 pixels) is already available in video-assisted surgery.

An improved surgical vision of 8K UHD offers different approaches to surgery, including immersion surgery and head-up microsurgery.

Instruments should be developed to match the need in these new surgical techniques.

Scientific validation of these new approaches should be warranted.
