Abstract

Efficient energy utilization is the need of the hour, as the resources are decreasing by the day. Each social unit ought to take measures to optimize their consumption to save lots of power. Constant surveillance of power consumption and immediate necessary reactions to overconsumption can help regulate the power intake. This can be done by employing a smart meter that uses a system of Raspberry pi, GSM module, and a relay module. This smart meter will continuously reveal the energy consumption of the household. Every time the electricity fed on is over the predefined threshold value, the power supply could be ceased. A message could be dispatched to the user every time the intake is greater than the described rate. This immediate alert system will ensure the consumer who is aware of the overconsumption of power.
