Abstract
Earthquake is an oscillation of the solid and fluid of the earth interior, and it is excited by fracture of rocks. The modes of fracture and nature of medium, therefore, govern the propagation of elastic wave of earthquake, and thus, the nature of the earthquake is manifested by the global process of fracture in the earth interior.
