Abstract

The correlated seismicity is basically the newly defined time series data transformed uniquely by the rotation basis orthogonal matrix with assumption of sparsity and Gaussian-type noises. The time series of the correlated seismicity is formulated by the state-space modeling method to their future behavior, that is the prediction of the seismicity. Furthermore, the local seismicity rates both in the global and regional cases may be estimated with probability by means of inversion method from the correlated seismicity rates.
