Solid Polymer Electrolytes of Lithium Salts and Polyethylene Glycols Cross-Linked with a Siloxane-Based Tetraisocyanate

  • Chapter
Integration of Fundamental Polymer Science and Technology—5

Abstract

Solvent free polymer electrolytes were synthesized by dissolving lithium Perchlorate and lithium triflate in networks or polyethylene glycols (MW 200–6,000) and a tetrafunctional aliphatic isocyanate. Thermal and conducting properties of the materials were determined as a function of temperature, salt concentration and polar additives. Swelling of the salt-free networks was also studied.
