Spectral Observation of the Soft X-Ray Background and of the North Polar Spur with Solid State Spectrometers

Abstract

In this paper, we present spectral measurements of the soft X-ray (E < 1 keV) background obtained with 3 cooled Si(Li) solid state detectors during the flight of a spin-stabilized rocket. A preliminary analysis of these data was already made (Schnopper et al. 1981 (hereafter referenced as paper I)).
