Spin Dynamics in the Paramagnetic Regime: NMR and EPR in Two-Dimensional Magnets

  • Chapter
Magnetic Properties of Layered Transition Metal Compounds

Part of the book series: Physics and Chemistry of Meterials with Low-Dimensional Structures ((PCMALS,volume 9))

Abstract

The study of spin fluctuations in magnetic systems raises challenging questions which, since the pioneering work of Kubo and Tomita [1] and of Moriya [2], have been widely investigated. In the last fifteen years, the discovery of quasi one- dimensional (1-d) and two-dimensional (2-d) magnetic compounds [3] has renewed the interest in this field. Some very specific properties which exist in any dimension become magnified in low-dimensional systems.
