Abstract
Thoracic imaging has an important role in the evaluation of patients with lung cancer: it is used in the detection, diagnosis, and staging of the disease as well as in assessing the response to therapy and monitoring for tumor recurrence after treatment. This article reviews the diagnosis and staging of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), emphasizing the appropriate use of computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MR), and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging in patient management.
