Abstract

In two cases of unresectable HCC with multiple lesions, in which TAE was not indicated due to the vascular abnormality or allergy against iodide contrast medium, combination therapy with systemic low-dose IL-2 infusion and local low-dose tumor irradiation exhibited apparent anti-tumor effects such as the decrease of blood tumor marker level and the mass reduction judged by imaging diagnosis. Enhancement of NK and LAK cell killing, and the increased expression of IL-2R on NK cells were observed after the treatment. There were no serious side effects associated with the treatment.
