Zusammenfassung

Urticaria triggered by cold and especially by cool drafts is a prominent anamnestic detail and in itself almost pathognomonic. It directly points to the autoinflammatory syndrome APLAID. This is an autoinflammatory syndrome with the symptom of recurrent fever and urticaria caused by cool drafts. An “antibody weakness” in the sense of an immune defect of variable severity can be associated. Modern molecular biological methods, specifically an autoinflammation panel based on next-generation sequencing technology, are helpful in leading a precise genetic definition from the complex field of inherited cold urticaria. A blockade of NLRP3 inflammasome-dependent inflammatory processes through an interleukin-1 blockade has proven to be successful.
