Zusammenfassung
„Frau Karla Roland war 57 Jahre alt und hatte eine lange Krankheitsgeschichte: Vor 5 Jahren war bei ihr wegen eines Karzinoms eine tiefe anteriore Rektumresektion mit Anlage eines Kolostomas durchgeführt worden. Damals wurde eine Leberzirrhose im Stadium Child B festgestellt, und seit dieser Zeit trank sie keinen Alkohol mehr. Der Verzicht war ihr anfangs schwergefallen. Vor der Diagnose hätte sie sich selbst oder auch jemand anderem gegenüber nie zugegeben, Alkoholikerin zu sein. Aber das Problem war für sie jetzt überstanden …“ – Die Leberzirrhose ist aber nicht die einzige relevante Vorerkrankung von Frau Roland. Zum Glück bekommt sie nur einen kleinen Eingriff – denkt sich der Anästhesist. War es richtig, auf weitere Voruntersuchungen zu verzichten? Während des Eingriffs geht es Frau Roland plötzlich sehr schlecht und zügiges Handeln ist gefordert, aber der Monitor gibt keinen Alarm. Warum?
