Zusammenfassung

In der momentan dominanten Makroökonomik wird die Zukunft ganz überwiegend mittels quantitativer Prognosen ausgelotet. Mittels mathematischer Modelle werden aktuelle Datensätze in die Zukunft extrapoliert. Dieses Verfahren stellt sich als unzureichend dar: weder längerfristige Entwicklungen noch spontane Disruptionen vermag es zufriedenstellend abzubilden, wie etwa das Beispiel der globalen Finanzkrise 2007–2008 eindrücklich zeigt. Es bedarf also der Ergänzung. Dafür bietet sich eine Szenario-Methode an, die stark qualitativ arbeitet, disziplinären Dogmatismus ablegt und auf kritisch-rationalen Diskurs setzt, um ihre Ergebnisse zu validieren. Die Voraussetzungen dafür sind in der gegenwärtig vorherrschenden Ökonomik jedoch kaum gegeben.
