Zusammenfassung
Die Corona-Krise hat in zweifacher Hinsicht zu einer für moderne Demokratien neuartigen Situation geführt: Grundrechte wurde zu Zwecken der Pandemiebekämpfung in zuvor unvorstellbarem Ausmaß eingeschränkt, und in der Rechtfertigung dieser politischen Entscheidungen spielten Kennzahlen eine größere Rolle denn je. Wir sehen dabei ein interessantes Phänomen: es wird ein anscheinend klarer Zahlenwert verwendet, um Entscheidungen, z. B. über Schließungen von Einrichtungen oder Einschränkungen der Bewegungsfreiheit zu rechtfertigen, ohne dass aber der Zahlenwert selbst gerechtfertigt würde. Nicht mehr Menschen entscheiden über Zahlen, sondern Zahlen entscheiden über Menschen.
