Zusammenfassung
Neue Technologien der Informationsverarbeitung, Sensoren, Satellitenbeobachtung und die großen Mengen von Text- und Bildmaterial im Internet bieten der Umweltsoziologie eine Vielzahl neuer Datenquellen. Die Erschließung dieser Ressourcen eröffnet zahlreiche Möglichkeiten für innovative deskriptive und explorative Studien ebenso wie zur Prüfung von Hypothesen. Der Beitrag behandelt ausgewählte Aspekte von Methoden zur Datengewinnung und Datenanalyse. Dazu zählen die Nutzung geo-referenzierter Daten, das Webscra** von Textdaten im Internet und Methoden zur Analyse kausaler Zusammenhänge.
