Zusammenfassung

Transnationale Akteure, d. h. private Organisationen mit grenzüberschreitenden politischen Aktivitäten, gehören insbesondere seit den 1990er- und 2000er-Jahren zu den prominenten Forschungsgegenständen in den Internationalen Beziehungen. Im Vordergrund der Forschung stehen die Hintergrundbedingungen unter denen transnationale Akteure politische Bedeutung gewinnen sowie die normative Bedeutung dieser Akteure. Der Beitrag illustriert diese Themen anhand von transnational tätigen Nichtregierungsorganisationen.
