Im Jahr 1906 traf eine junge japanische Familie aus aristokratischem Milieu in Baoding, rund 160 km südwestlich von Bei**g, ein. Es war die Zeit der ersten belichteten Laufbilder im chinesischen Reich. Zehn Jahre zuvor im Jahr 1896, sahen in Shanghai die ersten Filme chinesisches Projektorlicht.
