Abstract
Although research of the Kapitza resistance has continued for many years, there still is not a definite and quantitative result for the reversibility of the effect (1,2). The reason lies in the technical difficulty of reversing the heat flow from liquid helium to solid (L→S) for the same interface under stationary conditions. This paper presents an apparatus in which the Kapitza resistance could be measured at the same interface in the same run in both directions of the heat flow from S→L or L→S and reports the results of Rk measurements for oxygen-free copper and single crystal Gd3Ga5O12, with (111) plane.
