Zusammenfassung

In der BRD gibt es etwa 6000 Hämophile (vgl. auch Steinhausen 1976). Bei diesen Patienten besteht ein Mangel an den Blutgerinnungsfaktoren VIII bzw. IX. Bei schweren Mangelzuständen, also einer Restaktivität der Faktoren unter 1%, kommt es oft zu z. T. massiven Blutungen in häufig beanspruchten Gelenken und Muskeln, wodurch Degenerationen entstehen. Manchmal, zum Glück selten, kommt es auch zu Gehirnblutungen mit irreversiblen Schädigungen.
