Recurrences with different techniques

Benign Lesions of the Esophagus and Cancer

Abstract

Assessing the rate of recurrence of gastroesophageal reflux (GER) after surgical treatment as a function of the technique used is difficult for various reasons [6, 9]. Preoperative and postoperative investigative techniques differ widely from one group to another. Variants of the same technique are often designated by the same name. The definition of recurrence is not standardized. Most studies are retrospective and the longest follow-up is 3 years.
