Zusammenfassung

Der intrakranielle Druck ist ein für das Überleben des Gehirnes ebenso wichtiger Parameter wie der arterielle Blutdruck und eine genügende Sauerstoff- und Glukoseversorgung [8, 5, 19]. Ein Anstieg des intrakraniellen Druckes in die Nähe arterieller Druckwerte für wenige Minuten führt zum ischämischen Hirntod [12]; auch geringere, überlebte Druckanstiege können bleibende Hirnfunktionsstörungen, im Extremfall ein apallisches Syndrom, zur Folge haben [1, 8, 21].
