Zusammenfassung
Oligosaccharidosen sind lysosomale Speicherkrankheiten. Gespeichert werden Oligosaccharide (kurzkettige Verbindungen aus Neutralzuckern und Aminozuckern). Ursache sind Mutationen der Oligosaccharid-abbauenden lysosomalen Enzyme. Klinisch ähneln sie weitgehend den Mukopolysaccharidosen, von denen sie sich orientierend durch die erhöhte Ausscheidung von Oligosacchariden statt von Mukopolysacchariden unterscheiden. Die genaue Zuordnung erfolgt durch Enzymbestimmung und/oder molekulare Analyse. Eine Besonderheit sind Mukolipidose II und III. Lyosomale Enzyme sind bei ihnen nicht verändert, werden aber nicht an ihren Wirkungsort, die Lyosomen, transportiert. Die Enzymaktivitäten im Blut sind erhöht. Die Mukolipidose II ähnelt klinisch einer Mukopolysaccharidose I, Patienten mit Mukolipidose III haben nur Skelettveränderungen und Gelenkkontrakturen, jedoch keine groben Gesichtszüge und keine intellektuelle Behinderung.
