Zusammenfassung
Grundlage aller planerischen Entscheidungen muss die möglichst genaue Antizipation der Kundennachfrage und die Ableitung des realisierbaren Absatzes sein, um einen hohen Umsatz, hohen Lieferservice, niedrige Kapitalbindung und optimale Kapazitätsauslastung zu erreichen. Die Aufgabe der Absatzplanung ist die Analyse der Absatzmärkte, die Prognose und Planung zukünftiger Absatzmengen und Verdichtung dieser in Absatzpläne, die als Ausgangspunkt der nachfolgenden Planungsprozesse dienen. Die Absatzprognose nutzt dazu qualitative und quantitative Prognosemethoden. Während qualitative Prognosemethoden i. d. R. auf subjektiven Einschätzungen von Experten basieren, wird der Absatz bei quantitativen Prognosemethoden mittels mathematischer, statistischer oder Machine Learning Verfahren prognostiziert. Ausschlaggebend für die Bewertung von Absatzprognosen sind Prognosegütemaße, die eine Abweichung zwischen prognostizierten und realisierten Absätzen messbar machen. Herausforderungen in der Absatzplanung liegen in deren organisatorischen Verankerung sowie im Aufbau der Kompetenz, um die vielfach versprochenen Vorteile der komplexen Verfahren der künstlichen Intelligenz zu heben.
