Summary

Three ACL suture techniques, according to Müller, Marshall and the “lateral trap”, were tested on cruciate ligament preparations of sheep within four hours after operation for loading capacity, stiffness, “elasticity”, absorbed energy at failure and mode of failure. Only the “lateral trap” technique demonstrated a primary loading capacity (µ = 198.1 N) which is within the spectrum of forces acting on the ACL (Chen, Black, 1980) and therefore enables early motion. The low values of the Müller’s (µ = 33.7 N) and Marshall’s techniques (µ = 82.8 N) indicate that satisfactory results cannot be expected without augmentation.

Zusammenfassung

Drei Nahttechniken zur Reinsertion des vorderen Kreuzbandes (ACL), die Naht nach Müller, nach Marshall und die „lateral trap“-Technik wurden an frischen Kreuzbandpräparaten vom Schaf ausgeführt und hinsichtlich Bruchkraft, Steifigkeit, Bruchdehnung, Bruchenergie und Versagensmodus beurteilt. Allein die „lateral trap“-Technik erreichte eine primäre Maximalbelastbarkeit (µ = 191,1 N) die sich hinreichend mit dem Belastungsspektrum des ACL (Chen, Black) überschneidet und damit eine frühfunktionelle Behandlung ermöglicht. Die geringen Werte der Müller- (µ = 33,7 N) bzw. Marshall-Technik (µ = 82,8 N) lassen ohne Augmentation keine befriedigenden Ergebnisse erwarten.
